How to set up your extension in the 3CX iOS app
If you haven’t done so already, install the iOS app; it’s free and available on the App Store.
Open the app, read and accept the license agreement, and allow the required permissions (camera, microphone).
Scan the QR code from your web client to automatically configure your extension.
You are now “ready for calls.”
How to find your 3CX QR code
Go to your 3CX web client, then click the QR code logo to the right of the phone icon in the top right corner.
Instructions and your QR code will be displayed.
Make a call on your iOS device
Using the iOS app to make a call is as simple as using your smartphone’s native dialer.
Enter a number via the dial pad and press call, or
Search contacts by name, extension, or email.
Press the “Contacts” button to open the contact menu and select “Call.”
On an active call, you can:
Transfer (two types):
Blind Transfer: transfers the call directly without speaking to the recipient.
Att. Transfer: transfers the call after speaking to the recipient.
Conference: add participants to the call.
Record: record the conversation.
Video: enable video (internal calls only).
New Call: put the current call on hold and start a new one.
Ask Siri to make a call
Ask Siri to place a call using 3CX, either by name:
“Siri, call John using 3CX”
or by extension “Siri, call 101 using 3CX.”
Make sure Siri is enabled on your device.
On first use, Siri will ask permission to access 3CX data – tap Yes.
Siri will then launch the 3CX app to make the call.
You can also launch 3CX anytime by saying: “Siri, open 3CX.”
If multiple people share the same name, Siri will prompt you to select the right number.
Schedule a video or conference call
With the iOS app, it’s quick and easy to schedule a conference call or video meeting:
Tap the menu button (top left) and select Schedule.
Add your subject, set date and time.
For a video conference, ensure the Video option is enabled.
Keep Add to calendar enabled to create an event in your device calendar and invite participants. (Disable if you don’t want to add it to your calendar.)
Add participants from existing contacts or enter their phone/email. Once created, participants cannot be modified.
Tap Save.
Create an ad-hoc conference
You can easily add participants to an ongoing call to create an ad-hoc conference.
To elevate a call into an audio or video conference:
Tap the Conference button on the dial pad.
Search for the person by name/extension, or enter their number.
Tap the contact/number to add them.
If only one number is assigned to the contact, it will be dialed automatically.
During a call, simply tap the Video icon to switch to a video call.

Change your status
The Status feature is a great way to let colleagues know if you’re available. It reduces distractions and helps others manage calls more effectively.
Tap the colored square (top right) and choose: Available, Away, Do Not Disturb, Lunch, Business Trip, or set a Temporary Status.
You can further customize your status and configure call forwarding rules by tapping the arrow next to the status.
3CX iOS App Settings
From the app menu button, you can:
Switch between accounts and view details.
Add a new extension.
Access Settings (top menu icon) to:
Create a conference
View/manage voicemails
Access audio and troubleshooting settings
Scan a QR code
